City sues to clean up property
The City of Rice Lake wants to get on the Donald F. Schuebel property on Allen Street and clean it up. It’s asking the Barron County Circuit Court to issue an order to allow it to do so.

The city has long been concerned about clutter on the 27-acre Schuebel property at 1916 W. Allen St. The city contends the property is a public nuisance because the junk there is a breeding place for vermin and mosquitoes, and there are abandoned vehicles there, which is an ongoing violation of city ordinances.
